How to Update DNS Settings

Custom Name Servers

One of the advantages of starting your site with us is you do not have to worry about updating your DNS from a different provider like GoDaddy or NameCheap. When you start a new site you get a free domain name and that will already automatically point to your website here that you are creating.

However, there are times when you may need to point your domain manually. So we are going to show you how to do that here with us as well as with some other companies just incase you have domains there that you do not want to move for some reason.

How to Update DNS on HostGalaxy

First you need to log into your account here on HostGalaxy. Once you do you will see the following after you have logged in.

Log into Account

Now that you are here we must go to the domains section where all of your domains with us are. So click on the word or section that says “Domains” with the green bar below it. Now you should see this below.

List of your domains

Now decide which domain it is that you need to change the DNS settings on. Then click the little arrow pointing down next to it all the way to the right. You will see the following menu when you do.

Domain menu

Now just tap the first one in this menu called “Manage Nameservers.” This will bring you to where you will see the following depending on where your name servers are pointed to currently. Just tap on the option that says “Use custom nameservers (enter below).”

Custom Name Servers

If you are wanting to point your domain name to our servers we use what you see above. So use the following.

Nameserver 1: ns1.hostgalaxy.com
Nameserver 2: ns2.hostgalaxy.com

Then make sure to tap on the “Change Nameservers” blue button to save those settings. If you did everything right then you should see a completion screen.
